Jenny Nicole’s Old School House Bakery: A Delightful Bakery Experience in Merced, CA

First time here as it was highly recommended. The food was delicious and well worth it as it was a big portion of food. Workers are welcoming here and friendly.

11-6-2025 Today I had a very delicious and fulfilling lunch at Jenny Nicole's Old School House Bakery. Everything here is top notch amazing! I had their Tri-Tip Plate with a side of Tomato Bisque and Portuguese Beans. For my beverage I had Cranberry, Strawberry, Lemonade. The service here is always friendly! I highly recommend you give this place a try. This is a hidden gem that everyone needs to try if you haven’t already! This place is amazing!! I ordered the Trophy Case Tri-Tip Dip sandwich. The sandwich was mouthwatering delicious and full of the right flavors. For my side dish, I had The Chicken Pot Pie Soup which was as their soup of the day. That soup was so good I might have to get some to go next time. For my beverage, I had fresh lemonade and a Diet Pepsi. To top it off, I couldn’t leave without having their Strawberry Shortcake cookie that was calling my name as I was eating my Tri-Tip Sandwich. The service here is friendly and I highly recommend this to everyone.

This has truly been one delectable find, by far one of the best accidental run-ins to an amazing place. Do not be fooled by the word bakery this place is so much more. I was only going to see what they had on the menu but to my surprise they were So welcoming and really made me feel at home. I was surprised because since I am not well acquainted with Portuguese food they allow me to sample a few items and it was truly amazing. I must admit for my first time I did not try any of the baked goods but I will next time. The sandwich that I purchased was a Portuguese pulled pork with an amazing sauce over it placed on a fantastic delectable soft bun. If that wasn't enough I could not resist when they said biscuits and gravy, with me being a Alabama hometown person I had to see how did it measure up. I can report with complete confidence that I was truly amazed The biscuits were first of all huge along with being moist, dense, and just so flavorful. You could actually call it angel food with a nice crusty outside lol, but it did not disappoint and you should still get the biscuits if you're not a fan of the gravy. I actually was and it was thick and hardy and truly worth the purchase. The picture that I included was only a half order! Yes I said half order A full order would be an additional biscuit splitting half and that was way too much for myself and my wife. This place was such an amazing find that once I took the food home I had to call them back to tell them how amazing everything was. If you are in the Merced area and want to try something truly exquisite and a little different from the norm you found the right place. I would urge you to also try their crackers that are baked fresh daily, they are crisp, fresh, and just a good amount of spicy to put a nice zip and tang in your mouth. I am happy to give this wonderful establishment five stars for everything because they are truly worth it.

I ordered the breakfast burrito, which was freshly made and piping hot when I received it. Good sized burrito with chunks of sausage, potatoes and an amazing gravy. I will definitely be going back.

Food is so delicious! I've tried their scones and cookies, which are so delicious. Friday they had tri-tip and pork belly plate. My goodness, it was amazing! Staff is super friendly and so attentive. Will definitely keep coming back!

I ordered Carry-Out today. Jenny was pleasant while taking my order and handing me my goodies. The food was packaged very thoughtfully to ensure a safe trip home. I purchased a Tri tip sandwich and a Turkey sandwich. Both were delicious as usual! Support Local!

Best tri tip I've had in a long time, the macaroni salad was very good too!
